Mission statements – We want to create a platform to offer a safe space without judgement for all sizes, shapes, and diversity to inspire others to express themselves through the industry of arts.
This aligns with our Modeling Boot Camp “Be The Star That You Are!”.
My son Zakai Roo Anderson- Tobeck goes by Roo was diagnosed with MECP2 Duplication syndrome at the age of 1 years old. MECP2 gene creates a protein that regulates the activity of other genes in the body. When the protein level is altered due to an extra copy of the gene, it results in body malfunction, and ultimately affects normal brain development. People with Mecp2 duplication syndrome have an extra copy of the MECP2 Gene resulting in too much MECP2 protein.
MECP2 is considered a neurological disorder.
Symptoms that Roo experiences are weak muscle tone, intellectual disability, delays in development, speech delay, progressive muscle stiffness, respiratory tract infections, and gastrointestinal symptoms.
Roo currently attends speech, occupational and physical therapy 2 times a week. Along with seeing specialty doctors like physical medicine, neurology, genetic counseling, rhett specialist, psychologist, Ear Nose and Throat and special educational services at school.
Roo is an enrolled Tribal member of Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, a Decedent of Tupi-Guarani Tribe as well as African and German lineage. Roo is a resilient boy and loves to spend time with others. Roo has modeled as an infant for Heart Berry from Eight Generation. He loves the camera. Roo also enjoys going outside, reading books, music, sporting events, powwows, round dances and dancing woodland at Powwows. His big smile lights up the room everywhere he goes :)
